If Dickens were writing today about the conditions of the citizens versus that of their employer, his “Scrooge” would be corporations. However, Dickens’ efforts to reform corporations would fail. Corporate people recognized years ago that they, like Scrooge, might one day grow a heart. They used their lawyers to ensure that they would never have a Scrooge-like conversion, even if they wanted too. (more).
Thanks to privatization, corporations now control every aspect of our lives: the food we eat; the water we drink; the air we breathe; they control congress, and no politician gets elected without the help of corporations so the president is under their control as well; they own every significant media outlet which means the media is just their marketing division; they control our healthcare system; and since they employ us they control all aspects of our employment and livelihood too: in short corporations are the new tyranny. I work in the healthcare industry, specifically with insurance company reimbursements. This topic is the main reason I started this website. Most of us in America have no idea that our health, and therefore our fate, lies in the hands of big insurance corporations. They decide what care you will receive, not your doctor. If your doctor wants to stay in business and get paid for his/her work she/he must conform to what the insurance company dictates. Talk about the individual being blurred out of existence! (more...)
Every corrupt government needs a scapegoat to deflect anger coming from its subjects. In the case of the US it is the corporatocracy that needs a scapegoat. The scapegoat in Nazi Germany was the Jew, or more generally: anyone who was not a true Arian. The concept of the scapegoat is to find a group of people that can be pointed to as the cause of everyone’s troubles in life. “Life would be perfect if it wasn’t for _____.” Fill in the blank with anyone except the people who are in charge and causing all the real trouble. The corporatocracy scapegoats anyone who dares to try and knock it down. (more...)
Just asking: Why are Conservatives so anti-people and so pro-corporation?
Site Disclaimer:Throughout this website other authors will be quoted that have more experience on certain subjects than I. However, using these quotes requires a note here in order to get the reader to listen and hear the words. I hate mentioning the name of authors because I know that in our fast-paced, dog-eat-dog society, “enemies” must be identified and destroyed in seconds as if we all live in some kind of video game. We have all learned how to slap labels on each other in a split-second and from there we only listen to those that wear a label that matches our own. This keeps things simple, “if you are not with us, you are against us” and allows us to keep moving without stopping to listen and think. In this “identify and destroy” society the individual is blurred out of existence. So, please, try your best not to dismiss the words of the authors that are introduced in this site simply because you or someone else has already slapped a label on them. Try to hear the core values in the words and see if they match your own set of values. Who knows, if you take the time to stop and listen now, the job (or country) you save may be your own.
